Testimonials

"We utilized the banner holders as street signs at Husker Harvest Days, the World’s Largest Totally Irrigated Working Farm Show. They stood up to the elements beautifully. The addition of them gave us another place to put sponsor messages and dressed up the look of the show throughout."

"The simplicity and versatility of the Rock Bottoms (cattle ties) combined with the dramatically lower labor costs for moving and set up makes them affordable for any size fair."

Barney Cosner, CFE, Executive Director,

Fremont County Fair, Riverton Wyoming

"Our use of the Rock Bottom Cattle Ties has been a real timesaver! With the use of a skid loader and a few man-hours, we can have the whole barn set and ready to go for a show. And with our tight schedule between shows that is a must. The Rock Bottoms are also very durable. We have moved them in and out of the barns several times over the last three years and they look just as good as the day we bought them. They have been an excellent investment for the Nebraska State Fair!"

Why Rock Bottoms?

In ’09 we were contacted by the Minnesota State Fair requesting a new cattle tie system for the renovation of their Cattle Barn. Outlining their defined space limitations along with the need to house more cattle, they wanted to illuminate the 4’ feed alley they currently had in each isle. Due to their unique situation of a basement under the barn they couldn’t drill holes in the floor.

At the same time the Nebraska State Fair was designing a new state fair facility. As a member of the Nebraska State Fair Board and a long time beef cattle exhibitor at many fairs/expos & stock shows, Van was already aware of the need for a better cattle tie system. The fair’s building committee’s first desire was to utilize post and sleeve cattle ties for their apparent versatility. However, after many discussions with facilities using a post and sleeve system they heard repeatedly of the high labor/maintenance cost associated with them. That fact along with the estimated cost of boring holes and installing sleeves rendered that model prohibitive for the Nebraska State Fair.  Hence… “ROCK BOTTOMS” was designed and created…  and so began Rock Bottoms Industries LLC.
